Who should attend?

We welcome both staff and pupils to attend our sessions. Though in order for a consultations to be as effective as possible, we strongly recommend that your SLT attend in the first instance.

How long will a demonstration last?

A typical consultation with SLT will last around one hour while a demonstration including pupils can require two hours, to enable them more ‘hands-on’ time.

The radio studio we will bring can be set-up within 5-10 minutes so please take this time into consideration if a meeting/conference room needs to be booked. Where possible, we will also connect the radio studio to a projector if larger numbers attend.

FREE On-site and On-line Consultations

Synergy School Radio provide free demonstrations and consultations to enable your school, college or university to discover the impact that radio can have on your teaching and learning.

The sessions are fun, information and for many, are the first step towards setting up a radio broadcast project.

What is involved?

One of our Media Projects Consultants will visit your school or college at a time to suite your time-table commitments. On-line demonstrations require an internet connection, so you can view our consultants screen as they speak with you, show you media and demonstrate some popular radio broadcast software.

On-Site Meetings

We will bring with us either an S-RADIO or Synergy system (please let us know if you have a preference in advance of the meeting) and demonstrate how this exciting technology can be used both within the curriculum and also as a student led radio station. Our consultants have a wealth of expertise, having helped well over 300 schools to start radio broadcast projects.

Requirements

On the day of your demonstration, please prepare the following to help our consultants set-up as quickly as possible:

•A parking space, close to the room where the meeting will take place

•Disabled access - The radio studios are portable and on wheels designed around DDA compliant spaces. Depending on the system used, some of the radio studio packages are quite heavy so please ensure lift access is available where the meeting is not taking place on a ground floor location.

•One 13 amp power socket

•As many SLT members as possible

•A projector, if a class of pupils are participating or a large group of staff are attending. Usually a classroom or conference room is the best location for this type of demonstration.
