Presenter Talk-Times
Have you ever wondered how good radio presenters manage to speak over the introduction to a track of music, then stop just as the lyrics start?... Intro and Talk-Times are the secret.
When importing music tracks into the library, you can set the Intro and Outro times as a guide for the presenter to know when the lyrics are about to start. There is also an Outro time helping the presenter should they want to talk over the end of a piece of music.
In addition to knowing when to speak, information such as track name, artist, album, track number from a CD, release date and genre are automatically populated for commercial CD’s that are ripped using Production. Additional information and notes can also be manually added, giving the presenter access to lots of research, all at the press of a button!

Cart Looping!
Cart Looping is now available in the latest release of On-Air.
Cart Looping enables any piece of audio placed into a cartridge to loop and continuously play until it is stopped by the presenter. This is very useful for backing-beds and short clips of music that you want to hear for longer periods of time than they may actually last.
You can turn on looping for a single audio cart, or turn on many. With 48 carts available to the presenter at anyone time, you can mix and match which ones loop and which ones play from start to stop.
Timed Events
Next to every event within a playlist is an associated time. This tells the presenter what time their advert, news jingles or interviews will happen throughout the show. In automation, playlists can run exactly to time, in ‘Live Assist’ it is the presenters job to ensure key items such as adverts and news ‘start on time’ using the Timed Events as a guide.
For broadcasters selling advertising, you can also generate a report of exactly what music, advert, cartridge, jingle was played, logged to the second. This can be helpful for generating reports for broadcast license purposes and accurate evidence for an advert agency should there be any discrepancies.
Set multiple cue points
The latest release of On-Air enables you to ‘scrub’ through and set a new, non-destructive start point for a track of music.
Perhaps the introduction to a song is too long, maybe you have a few seconds to loose following an interview that over ran or perhaps you have played a track and just want to play a section of it again.
The New Preview tools in On-Air allow you to select any track from the library or from the upcoming playlist and change the start point of that track.
You can make the change and update your playlist so that when the track plays, it starts from the newly set point. You can also place the newly edited audio into a cartridge, meaning every time you start the cart, it will play from the new start point enabling you to quickly start and stop the track again and again from the newly edited point.
Description
On-Air is Clyde Broadcast’s ‘play-out’ software. Play-out software is what the presenter uses to host their radio show. Imagine On-Air as a sophisticated playlist with music, jingles, news items and various events and instructions to help guide the presenter while hosting a radio show.
In addition to the playlist are cartridges. You can create an unlimited number of cartridge pre-sets that the presenter can use to embellish the show playing; sound effects, backing beds, news clips and other audio required on demand.
On-Air can record, with ‘quick recording’ options for recording the whole show, interviews and even telephone calls-off air*
Clyde Broadcast’s Professional software is the most popular used software in education today. It is used in hundreds of radio stations from education, community, local and state broadcasters world wide.
