PA and Speaker Installations
Breakfast, break and lunch-time radio shows are extremely popular for pupils wanting to take responsibility for a radio project and showcase the schools talents.
One of the more popular and reliable ways to broadcast your radio station around the school is to install an amplifier with speakers in locations where you would like your radio shows to be heard.
Speakers can be located in corridors, atriums, classrooms, canteen areas and also in outside spaces. For more information about speaker installations, visit our PA and Speaker Installations page.
Online, On-Digital and On-Air
As you would expect from one of the worlds largest manufacturers of radio broadcast technologies, Synergy and S-Radio studios can be listened to in a variety of ways, and many require no additional cost.
The most popular methods of broadcasting within education are:
•To save your radio shows as an MP3, so you can access them via your VLE
•Connect your radio station to an amplifier with speakers located around the school
•Stream your radio station via your local intranet, or to the world wide web
•Connect your radio station to a transmitter and ariel, and broadcast over the airwaves!
Please note: What you broadcast and how you broadcast may require your school to pay for music and broadcast licensing. For more information about licensing please contact us.
Save Your Radio Shows to MP3
On-Air, the radio-automation-software that comes pre-installed with all Synergy and S-Radio studios, has been specifically designed to make recording simple.
At the touch of a button, the ‘Quick Record’ feature enables you to record your live radio show OR to record just the microphones and cartridges without disrupting what may be broadcasting to your listeners.
All of this is possible because Synergy and S-Radio On-Air software has a direct connection to the mixing desk, allowing you to perform more complex recordings at the-touch-of-a-button!
Your finished recording can either be edited or saved, ready for immediate use.
Streaming Your Radio Station
Streaming is a great way to listen to your radio broadcasts via an internet connection and enables computers on your network, mobile devices and many mobile phones to ‘listen-in live’.
Both the Synergy and S-RADIO PC’s have built-in software that provide a Unicast streaming facility. One of the advantages of streaming is that for many schools with a modern IT infrastructure, the technology is totally FREE!
