Key Features

Description

SYNERGY represents a brand-new approach to equipping a radio studio or radio station.  The conventional method is to select the individual components - the main ones being the mixer and the ‘play-out’ system (hardware and various software applications) - then to ‘integrate’ or make them work together as a complete system.  This can either be undertaken by station engineers, or by hiring an external systems integrator, and can often be quite challenging - with plenty of scope for ‘passing the buck’ between suppliers of individual items when something fails to work as anticipated!

The SYNERGY concept is very different - a single product which combines the functionality of a state-of-the-art digital broadcast mixer with a complete suite of integrated broadcast applications - offering some really unique and innovative user benefits, which are totally impossible using the conventional approach.

Experience the power of digital routing

Unlike an analogue mixing desk, SYNERGY’s digital mixer only has 3 wires connected to it.  Input sources (microphones, telephones, CD players, speakers etc) all connect to an MPU, a sophisticated router with a direct connection to the mixer.

Synergy
SYNERGY mpu

The MPU allows for thirty-three sources to be connected to your radio studio, without having to swap wires around or buy individual ‘extra channels‘ suitable for a wider variety of input/outputs.  Should you wish to add that fourth microphone, two telephone channels or perhaps receive a news feed via an ISDN line, the MPU has a range of digital and analogue connections, suitable for radio stations of any shape or size.

With many sources connected to the MPU, SYNERGY’s mixer can access eight at anyone time. What’s more, because the channels are digital, you can put any source onto any channel!  Stations with lots of sources connected to their MPU may benefit from a second SYNERGY mixer being connected, to allow for sixteen channels to access the MPU’s connected sources.

Digital routing can be extremely valuable within a school environment, where one group of users may only need access to basic sources, a higher level of user may want access to many more, and a wider variety.  User profiles let you save and load your favourite mixer set-ups, saving valuable lesson time, ‘growing as you grow’  and hiding those ugly exposed wires!

Less buttons but unlimited features

Traditional analogue mixing desks often feature lots of buttons.

SYNERGY’s digital mixing desk is the ONLY radio broadcast mixer that is designed and manufactured by the same company who write the software, Clyde Broadcast.  This unique level of integration offers incredible ease of use, wider levels of engagement and enables unmatched levels of  support.

Its got lights!

Illuminated, colour-coded buttons help to aid retention and should the PC go down, the mixer and MPU can still be used, switching to the ‘old fashioned’ method of just using CD’s, telephones and microphones to carry your show until the PC re-boots.

Not only is the SYNERGY mixing desk uncluttered and uncomplicated, simple for first time users, it has all the connectivity you need to future proof your radio studio, should it grow to become a full-time radio station.

No need to trouble shoot

Should someone be using SYNERGY’s more advanced features, changing settings and the system is not working in a way you would expect, the mixing desk can be ‘reset’, instantly loading a default configuration so you can start from the beginning, without having to call a technician

Digital hardware also enables Clyde Broadcast’s technical support team to access your radio studio should you have any difficulties.  Support on this level can not be achieved with an analogue mixing desk. With digital, every button, switch and fader can be diagnosed through an internet connection, from anywhere in the world.

12 x Acoustic Treatment Panels (CATS 2)

To achieve a professional sound for your radio studio, most rooms will benefit from acoustic treatment.

Our CATS 2 Panels fix to your studio walls and are specifically designed for voice frequencies, helping to stop your radio shows from sounding as though you are broadcasting from a bathroom!

This is particularly effective in a new-build school where studio rooms have typically smooth, hard, flat walls, often with lots of glass.  The CATS 2 Panels are available in a variety of colours.
