Holgate CLC purchased their Clyde Broadcast ‘SYNERGY Portable’ System in Spring 2007. The CLC is one of two CLCs in Barnsley and together they work with 95 schools including Primary and Secondary. Holgate specializes in Print and Graphics, Audio Recording, Video Production, Web design and a number of outreach projects that involve both the education and business sectors from the region.  | Following Holgate’s extremely successful Expo, Barnsley Academy, who attended on the day, later purchased their own Synergy Radio station and the CLC have since had a lot of interest from schools wanting to borrow the equipment. Most recently, Greenacre School, a Special Educational Needs School, borrowed SYNERGY for 1 week to give their pupils the experience of a new and exciting activity. On the last day, the students created a 2 hour radio show which was broadcast around their school for everyone to hear. Greenacre were supported by Ollie Hays (a well known radio presenter from Hallam FM), Ollie said he was very impressed with the technology, the work the pupils had achieved and how they all enjoyed working together to build a radio show. Dean Macfarlane - CLC Manager attended the day and commented; “It was fantastic to see the students working together, using SYNERGY’s touch screen to pick music, play jingles and record interviews and news reports. Its a really easy system to work and its great that everyone could be included to make the final show” | |
