| Sandhurst School Radio is a really exciting project where pupils have been given the opportunity to express themselves and share ideas, through running a radio station in their dining hall and on-line. “Sandhurst Radio plays before school for the breakfast club, during break and lunch times and also after school. There is a committed team of DJ’s and technical support who all work together to make it as exciting as possible” Zach Berry There are some fantastic opportunities available with the SYNERGY Radio Station, both within the school curriculum and of course as an extra-curricular activity. | |||
| “The shows tend to be themed, for example me and my friends host ‘The Rock Show’ but we also have ‘The Chart Show’, ‘Golden Oldies’ and so on... We also do lots of competitions and fundraising activities” Cameron Richardson | |||

Since Sandhurst’s Introduction of the SYNERGY radio station in 2007, the school have made fantastic progress with it’s expansion and integration, throughout the school. The Modern Foreign Languages department use SYNERGY to create learning resources, interview one another and create radio shows in other languages, broadening the students vocabulary and confidence when speaking, not to mention their interest and engagement when learning! On a regular basis, local services; fire, police, student-council, health services feature on the schools programs. The radio station has given the school NEW opportunities to develop and nurture relationships within the local community and achieved giving pupils ownership and responsibility for aschool wide project. | ![]()

We also use it to promote various school events and advertise various things going on such as new food promotions in the canteen and school productions. We can use the SYNERGY radio station to give out important notices and it’s a really good way to share student’s opinions and responses to what’s going on in the school”
| “We are now preparing for ‘Live Friday’ sessions at lunch times. We have organized our local radio station to host live performance session from our school every other Friday for our students to have the opportunity to perform to their friends in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. It will be really exciting as the recordings can then be heard by the local community, on-line at Bracknell FM!” Katherine Edmunds | |||
