FREE on-site consultation and demonstrations

SYNERGY School Radio provide ‘on-site’ consultations and demonstrations to enable your school, college or university to discover the impact that radio can have on your teaching and learning.

The sessions are fun, informative and for many, are the first step towards setting up a radio station.

What is involved?

One of our Media Projects Consultants will visit your school or college at a time to suit your time table commitments.

They will bring with them a SYNERGY Portable radio station and demonstrate how this exciting technology can be used both within the curriculum and also as a student led radio station.  Our consultants have a wealth of expertise having helped hundreds of education establishments across the UK to start up radio broadcast projects.

The sessions are a great way to:

  • Find out more about the various radio broadcasting applications within education
  • See how other schools and colleges are using radio to engage their learners
  • Discover how you could used radio broadcasting as an educational tool
  • See the latest digital radio broadcast equipment and find out why this technology is so important for a school radio station.
  • Let students and staff have a go at radio broadcasting for themselves!

Who should attend?

We welcome both staff and students to attend our sessions.  Though in order for a consultation to be as effective as possible, we strongly recommend that a member of the Senior Leadership Team attend.

Duration

A typical consultation with Senior Leadership staff will last an hour while a demonstration/workshop including pupils will require two hours.

The SYNERGY radio station can be up and running within 5-10 minutes so please take this time into consideration if a meeting/conference room needs to be booked.

Requirements

On the day of your demonstration, please prepare the following to help our consultants setup as quickly as possible:
  • A Parking space
  • Disabled access.  The SYNERGY Portable radio station’s are designed around standard DDA specifications    and are on wheels.  The radio station is heavy so please ensure lift access is available where the meeting is  not taking place on a ground floor location.
  • One 13 amp power socket
  • As many members of SLT staff as possible.
  • A projector, where a class of pupils are participating or a large group of staff are attending.  A classroom with a standard project is perfect.
